Management and Role of Photographic Records in the Archives: Present and Future

Description: This two-day course will examine the management of photographic records in an archival institution. Starting with the history of photography, the workshop will provide participants with an overview of the acquisition, appraisal, preservation and access issues faced by archival institutions regarding photographs in both traditional paper and digitial formats. A combination of lectures as well as in-class exercises allowing for more detailed questions, the workshop will provide participants with the resources necessary to manage their photographic collections more effectively.
