Pages: a learning forum on supporting readers through partnerships

You are invited to a premiere –and free!--forum on readers and reading on November 14, 2008.
PAGES is a one-day workshop on supporting readers through partnerships. Providing reader support calls for breadth of knowledge, awareness of available tools, and subtle social skills. Although it is often unnoticed by the reader, this service is an essential element in many reading lives.

We welcome library staff, reviewers, teachers, authors, booksellers, university or college instructors, or a student aspiring to any of these professions, as well as the general public. Please join us as we explore topics on reading, readers, literacy, writing, publishing, and readers' advisory. This is a day to create partnerships with other professionals who actively work with readers.

Featuring keynote speakers Nancy Pearl, librarian and author of Book Lust; and writer/broadcaster Eleanor Wachtel of CBC Radio's Writers & Company.

Date: November 14, 2008, 9-5

Location: Stanley A. Milner Library, Edmonton

Online registration begins September 15. Don't miss your chance to join us!
