Rob Tiessen (Head of Access of Services, member of the Canadian Library Association's Copyright Committee) will give a presentation on the current state of copyright in Canada, as well as comment on current and attempts to amend the Copyright Act, and the proposal by Access Copyright for a copyright tariff for post secondary institutions in Canada. This talk with be preceded, followed and supported (or even scaffolded for the education minded) by festive treats, finger foods, and hot beverages. Please come out to not to not only be updated on the current state of this important professional issue but also to share Christmas cheer with your fellow library folk.
