Archives Society of Alberta Workshop and Institute - Edmonton & Calgary

There are two upcoming education opportunites offered by the Archives Society of Alberta that may be of interest to some subscribers.
On March 18, 2011, the ASA is offering the workshop "Social Media for Archives" at the Provincial Archives of Alberta in Edmonton. Presented by Braden Cannon, the course will discuss social media and its uses in archival settings. The workshop is aimed at small- to medium-sized institutions with minimal budgets can use social media to improve access to holdings. From May 9-14, 2011, the ASA is presenting its Archives Institute at the University of Calgary. Covering the basics of archival theory and practice, the Institute is an intensive introduction to the work of archivists and archival institutions.
