GELA (Greater Edmonton Library Association) is pleased to announce an evening social event on Tuesday, August 2nd: "A Streetcar Named Osaka #247 (or Hannover #601)."
Join us for a sunset excursion over the High Level Bridge aboard an historic streetcar. Once on the bridge, you'll enjoy a unique opportunity to admire the views and chat with fellow GELA members and other guests over wine and nibbles until the sun goes down. Children are welcome to attend.
We invite you to arrive at the Strathcona Streetcar Barn between 7:45 pm and 8:00 pm, when you'll have a chance to visit the Edmonton Radial Rail Society's small museum. At 8:15pm the streetcar will depart for the High Level Bridge, remaining on the bridge until sunset, and returning around 9:30 pm. The streetcar barn is located at the intersection of Gateway Boulevard (103 St) and 84 Ave at the North end of the Strathcona Farmer's Market.
Please send an RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your spot(s), as the capacity is limited to about 40 people. You may pay for your reserved ticket(s) at the event. Tickets for remaining spots will be available at the event on a first come, first served basis.
For those interested in joining GELA, memberships will be available for purchase at the event.
