CALL FOR PROPOSALS - Southern Alberta Library Conference 2012

The Southern Alberta Library Conference 2012 planning committee is inviting proposals for concurrent sessions for the conference to take place in Lethbridge, March 9-10, 2012.

The theme for the 2012 conference is “Better Together: the Power of Partnerships”.

The planning committee aims to provide a variety of session topics appealing to a wide audience. We invite session proposals that celebrate and highlight the theme of partnerships. We encourage all proposals to consider how the subject matter can be applied to smaller, rural libraries. Proposals on a variety of board development topics are also welcome.

We are also inviting proposals for poster sessions. Has your library developed a unique partnership or innovative program? Want to share but not sure you want to deliver a full 75 minute session? Just create a poster showing what you have done, to be included in our poster session area. Time will be set aside at the conference for delegates to view the posters. It’s a great way to show off your library.

For session proposals, please include the following information:

• Proposed topic / session title

• A brief description of the session content

• Keywords or ‘tags’ to describe the session

• Target audience (s)

• A brief summary of the speaker’s experience with the topic

All concurrent sessions are 75 minutes in length.

To express interest in presenting a poster session, please send an expression of interest including the subject matter to be included on the poster.

Please forward this call to colleagues in your organizations.
