The ASA is presenting an additional session of the one-day "Exhibiting Archival Materials" workshop. The second session will take place on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Provincial Archives of Alberta.
Reviewing issues and principles of preservation related to the use of archival materials in exhibitions, the workshop will discuss paper records of standard and unusual sizes as well as records in other media from the perspectives of choosing materials for exhibit, mounting objects, creating mats for display and storage, choosing framing materials, standards for display, and creating supports. In addition, the workshop will examine how to create reproductions and digital copies for exhibit purposes as well as processes for transferring audiovisual records.
The workshop instructors are Alison Freake, Terry O'Riordan, and Christina Abramenko from the Provincial Archives of Alberta.

This additional session of this workshop will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 between 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Provincial Archives of Alberta Boardroom, 8555 Roper Road in Edmonton. Workshop enrolment is limited to 16 people.
